Why the ESRB website shows nothing

If you search esrb.org or pegi.info for Osiris Reborn, you get no result, and some AI summaries say the game is unrated. Both things can be true at once. Digital store listings get their ratings through the IARC questionnaire, which hands out ESRB, PEGI, USK and other ratings for that storefront. The Microsoft listing carries an IARC entry alongside the ESRB and PEGI ones. A full rating in the boards’ own databases usually comes closer to release. The PlayStation Store has not shown any rating yet. Until then, treat M / 16 as the working answer, not as final.

What Owlcat itself warns about

Owlcat’s content warning on Steam is more specific than any rating board:

“This game contains scenes and texts some people may find disturbing. They are not graphically detailed and most of them occur episodically… You may see depictions of blood, slavery in this game. It also contains textual descriptions and mentions of abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, sexual assault, self-harm, suicide, and miscarriage. Player discretion is advised.”

On Steam the game is tagged for some nudity or sexual content and general mature content. That fits the source material: The Expanse books and show are adult political sci-fi, and the game is set during the Eros outbreak (see timeline). Owlcat has confirmed romance but has not said how explicit it is.

Steam’s auto-generated ratings

Steam builds its own regional ratings from a developer questionnaire. They do not always match the Xbox ones:

Germany: 16 (sexual content, suicide, alcohol and tobacco). Matches USK 16.
Brazil: 16 (violence, sensitive themes, bad language). The Xbox store says 14.
Indonesia (IGRS): marked banned (drugs, violence, horror). This is Steam’s automatic result, not a government decision we can find.
